My First trip to "Cali".

Why do people call California "Cali"? Does it make you sound cooler? Ha I hope so.

I arrived in Orange, California March 16th. I'm staying with a good friend from high school. Much cheaper! I was hoping to get around by bus but it's not as easy as I thought. The bus system is more for going from place to place within your town. It is not for going from town to town easily. From Orange to downtown LA it takes about 5 hours by bus! Crazyness. The metrolink seems pretty simple though. I'm going to try it out sometime this week. I'll let you know how that goes.

I've been to Huntington Beach and Venice Beach so far. So beautiful!!!

I haven't even seen the Hollywood sign yet and I'm sold on California. It's exactly how I was hoping it'd be! Even the radio stations are better :). It does get really cold at night though. I know now to keep a jacket with me. Maybe I've already gotten too used to the Florida weather again.

I went to In-n-out burger! It was yummy. You have to get "animal style" when you order. Its not on the menu, I guess its a secret?.. That was a must do.

That's all I have for now. I'm going to do some more local things tonight.

Saving Money.

Living at home is the best way to save money. I know thats pretty obvious though. From what I've read and the advise I've been given you need quite a bit of money to move. Unless you have someone to stay with until you get on your feet it seems you need at least $5,000. Well, that's how much I want to have saved. I feel like that will cover an apartment deposit, first month's rent, food and transportation for a month. But really thats just me hoping I get a job quickly.

Cost of living is higher here for sure. It's similar to NYC though. Minimum wage is $8.00 in LA (that may give you a better idea). Keep in mind here this is all info I've read or heard through the grapevine! I really don't know anything. So, if any of you out there know more PLEASE tell me!! I need to know as much as possible. I don't like money but it is a necessity and I need to know how to budget it for California.

$$$$$$

Life story in 10.2 seconds.

Born in Tennessee, moved to Orlando age 9, aspiring actress since birth, drama kid, moved to NYC age 18 by myself, moved back to Orlando age 20 to save money, next is LA!

Thats me in a very small nutshell. I've known since I was extremely young that I am going to be a successful actress. I don't have a plan B or any fall back plan because well, I don't need it! Cocky? Yes.

I lived in NYC for two years taking classes and building my resume. In my opinion I was a pretty successful 18 year old with only high school experience. I had 3 agents and got paid to work doing what I love! Can't beat that! But I realized that theater isn't where my future is even though it does have my heart. Film is where I want to be. On the big silver screen! (Makes me excited just thinking about it). I packed my things and moved back home to be a cliche. . . ! A waitress. :) I'm saving money quickly to move to Los Angeles. Home of Hollywood. This blog will show the "Journey of a young actor moving to LA".
